To make murukku you have to ready a murukku maker which you can easily buy online. Otherwise, you can use an icing squeezer to make murukku too. So, let’s see how to make this fabulous snack in your home.

Ingredients

·        1 cup of roasted rice flour

·        ½ cup of gram flour

·        ½ tbsp of chili powder

·        ½ tbsp of asafoetida

·        1 ½ tbsp of sesame seeds

·        Salt to taste

·        Water

·        Oil

How to Make

Sieve both the rice and gram flour in a bowl and mix it well. Then put the chili powder, asafoetida, sesame and salt into that bowl and again mix it. Now put 2 tbsp of oil into the bowl and mix the mixture again. Now gently add water little by little and knead the mixture well. When it becomes into a soft dough. Just like a bread dough. When the mixture is well prepared, now heat some oil to a deep fry. Don’t heat the oil too much, keep the heat in a medium level. Then put the mixture into your icing squeezer or the murukku maker. Then gently pour the mixture into the hot oil and fry till it gets brown colour. Then take the murukku out of the oil pan and keep it on a kitchen paper towel for a while. Keep it few minutes to cool down. That is all and now you can enjoy the delicious Murukku in your home kitchen. You can keep this snack nearly one week, but it should be kept in an air tighten container.
