Beaches In Jaffna Peninsula

Except the KKS beach and Delft beach, there are some major fascinating and popular beaches in Jaffna. These sandy beaches will make your day perfect. Sri Lanka is one of the best choices for beach lovers. But if you are a surfing lover, these beaches will not suit for you, because as I mentioned before the wave is very calm. Seeing a large wave is once in a blue moon. Anyhow let’s look at the most famous beaches among the travelers.

1.      Casuarina Beach

When you travel 20 km from the Jaffna town, you can easily catch this breathtaking beach. The gentle waves would do nothing danger. Therefore, it is easy and safe to have a nice sea bath. The perfect blue water heals your body as well as your mind set. There are plenty of casuarina trees around this beach and that is the reason for named this beach so. Almost every day you can pick this beach busy. The sandy coast feels so blessed. You can lay down under a casuarina tree and have a little peaceful nap (I had a nap, it was amazing). Another perfect beach in Jaffna.

2.      Chardy Beach

Another breathtaking coast area in Jaffna peninsula. The place is about 15km far from the Town. The beach is in a mini-island near main peninsula, but don’t worry there is a road connecting these two lands. Most importantly the road to this beach is set through a fascinating scenery. The area is less crowded and not so busy. Palmyra and coconut trees will shelter you from the sun. The attractive white sand and the sunny climate are combined perfectly. This beach also a safe beach, there are not any terrific waves. There are some places renting tubes to travelers, so they can have a nice tube ride. The wind is not so strong. But it is hard to see any seashells. Anyhow a fantastic destination to experience a moment of joy.

3.      Akkarai Beach

Looking for a family vacation, this would be the best destination for you. The beach is located in Thondamanaru, which takes around 35 to 45 minutes to drive here from Jaffna. The greenery across the beach, gives a different kind of experience. There is a Lord Murugan Kovil near here, which makes another reason for visiting this beach. The beach is not so popular among the travelers; therefore the beach is a hidden violet in the rob. Beach is quiet and calm with less people. Actually, it can be referred as a park too. In my opinion, a best beach to have a peaceful evening.
