Raw Banana Bajji
When you are enjoying the street foods in Jaffna, this food
will definitely your favourite one. Raw banana (vazhakka) bajji is a mouth-watering
snack and very cheap with comparing other snacks. It is a fried snack and have
a lot of carbohydrates. Most importantly the bajji is served with a delicious
sauce which you can have only from street food carts. Here is the procedure of
making this delicious snack.
Ingredients

1 cup of gram flour
·
½ cup of rice flour
·
1 raw banana
·
1 tsp chili powder
·
½ tsp asafoetida
·
A pinch of salt
How to make
Put rice flour, gram flour, chili powder and salt in a
basket and mix it thoroughly. Then add some water slowly and make a thick
batter. Then peel the skin of nicely washed banana. Then slice the banana into
very thin pieces. Then put the banana slices into the batter and then dip it.
After both sides of the banana are well coated, fry them well in deep and heated
oil till it gets a golden colour. In the end you have Jaffnas’ most delicious
street food in your kitchen.
