One of the iconic places of Jaffna is Nallur Kandasamy
Kovil. The most devoted and most visited place in Jaffna peninsula. The Kovil
was devoted to Lord Kandasamy, another avatar of Lord Murugan. The rituals are
taken place thrice a day and some special rituals are occurred in every Sunday
and some other special days. The kovil is situated in Nallur, which takes mere 15
minutes from Jaffna town.
Delft island
is actually a package of destinations. It will take two or three days to discover
the complete island. Delft is a little island that belongs to the Jaffna
peninsula. Local people call the island as ‘Nedunthivu’. It is 12km away from
the main island. Reaching the island is possible by boats only and there is a
free boat service conducting by the Government Navy forces. There are so many
things to watch in Delft Island. The island has a unique architecture, and it is

located in 6km away from main island and boat rides are the only possible way

Hammenhil Fort
If you are looking for an exciting destination to explore that is
steeped in history, then look no further than Hammenhil Fort in Jaffna. It will
take nearly 45 minutes from Jaffna town to reach this fantastic destination.
You can pick Karainagar Bus and it will take you to the dock and you have to
take a boat ride too. From the magnificent architecture excellence, the place should
be in your bucket list.
Keerimalai Pond
Another fascinating and most visited destination in Sri Lanka. Keerimalai is located in in northern part of Jaffna. There are about 20km from the town, but this destination definitely should be in your travel diary. Keerimalai is regarded as a sacred water spring and this place is worth to visit and never forget to take a dive into this fabulous pond.
